English Vinglish Telugu Movie Review

English Vinglish Telugu Movie ReviewStory :

Sri Devi’s English Vinglish Movie- Sridevi plays Shashi Godbole, a typical Indian housewife from Pune.It is a drama based movie. Here Sridevi plays a role of a housewife, who in order to please her husband and family, enrolls for an English speaking course. But at the same time, the film does not make you cry or think too much. Her world revolves around her husband, two kids and her business. She also has a mother-in-law (Sulabha Deshpande). Shashi is overworked and under-estimated, and often overlooked for the kind of love and effort.she puts into the family. Everyone will find one woman in their family like Shashi, I’m sure. when she musters up the courage to join English classes and attends them without letting anyone know. This portion of English Vinglish might remind you of the classic Mind Your Language.Thankfully the proceedings are lightened up by the possibility of a romance between Shashi and her classmate Laurent(Mehdi Nebbou). So, kuch kuch hota hai or not? Watch the film to find out!

Analysis :

After 15 years Sridevi’s English Vinglish Movie comeback is rocking with a role that suits her age and her experience. She is completely in character, knowing just when to hold back and when to emote. Range of that incredible talent she has. Even her well-known dancing skills were not put to good use in the wedding song.French-Arabic actor Nebbou plays a French cook role. His scenes with Sridevi are most natural, as he communicates with his eyes. Bollywood’s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is loud and funny in the film .Also, the climax is at a great Indian wedding, as it almost always is. But this one’s a one-time must-watch with the family and touches on old-fashioned values like love, respect for one another .

Performances :

English vinglish Movie- Sri Devi is the perfect choice for this movie. . Sridevi has given an award winning performance in English Vinglish.Nobody can play the role of Shashi so convincingly. She shines in her comeback film. Though Sridevi is in a complete de-glamourous role in English Vinglish, she will still mesmerise you withher simplicity and charm.Sridevi’s husband in the movie, Adil Hussain is a good choice for this role. French actor Mehdi Nebbou will win your heart , has given a powerful performance in the movie. Amitabh Bachchan is a total delight to watch in a brief, but very comical role.

Technicalities :

English Vinglish Movie Director Shinde brings experiences from her surroundings in a nice way. A lot of the emotions have been depicted in movies and TV shows before, but it still seems new and credit that goes to Gauri, Sridevi, the other actors . English Vinglish Music is soulful and good. Every song in the movie is well placed.

Final Word :  Definitely Sridevi’s comeback in Bollywood with a beautiful story and strong role. It’s a compete family entertainer . One of the best movies of the year. Must Watch.

 BVSN Prasad
Release date
: 6 October 2011
Theater watched: Talluri Theatre (ECIL X Roads),  Hyderabad.
Plus Ponits : Surender Reddy, Jr.NTR, Praksh Raj, Tamana
Minus Points : Story Line up, Music, Dances, Dialogue Punches, Absence of Brahamanandam, Fast Coming Songs makes film has no story line.

Might be this is not a disaster but it is a big disappointment for the Ntr Fans, Who expect mass songs and humorous punch dialogues lack in the film.   However the story line is quite silly narration lineup and lacks proper structure to mesmerize the audience.   The time factor is just right. The costumes, colours are well thought off and add to the moderate visual beauty. The highpoint of the film is NTR's flashback episode in the second half of the story.  First of you could expect utter comedy with M.S. Naryana.

Story Line:
Ntr (tony) is a  youngster who does illegal things for money in Mumbai. In a Sudden Kidnap by Terrorists   Ntr falls in love with  (Tamanna) by a simple lip lock .After that he follows  and proposing to her. But she is Already in love with a Minister’s Son. Tony has a secret mission and he has to do it for his promise. The Remaining Story  is all about the love  story and  Tony’s Revenge to achieve his mission.

NTR: Director can Bring more talent form Ntr However NTR has shown his landmark in the movie but fans may disappoint. His fresh look gives a neat impression in entertainment episodes (1st half) .  His dialogue modulations are different, We can count on fingers much needed  mass dialogues  in Film. At most His performance in the Flash back   is excellent.

Tamana: Tamana as Niharika she had done a great role and give great compete to Ntr, her Custumes and looks are amazing. Coming to Flash back she is the key for the entire story line up and her new look(short haircut) after she went a brain surgery(Bullet Hit) is amazing.

Others:  Prakash Raj has done the role of main villain(Ajju Bhai) who makes an entrance only in the second half.Comedy Tracks with Jaya Prakash Reddy Especially with  Raghu Babu and Karumanchi Raghu (fame Angrez Dollarah !) are excellent. Payal Ghosh (heroine of Prayanam film) did tamana’s friend and she is nice.   Tanikella Bharani, Kick Shyam,  etc have done Justification.

Technical departments: Music by Devi Sri Prasad is not upto the mark The best song of the movie  \ is  Flash Back Song . Devi can play more prominent role in Background Score but he had not done well , In climax part we can easily Identify the cheap bg score.  Cinematography by Rasool Ellore is Perfect, Few Close up Shots are mind blowing . Coming to  Surender Reddy narration is well but he can do more well.

However my opinion for the movie is as fan you can watch it n enjoy, but as an audient I feel  movie is not upto the mark.

Pilla Zamindar - Ayyayo Jebulo Dabbulu Poyene is the highlight

Pilla Zamindar - Ayyayo Jebulo Dabbulu Poyene is the highlight

The secret behind the success of hero Nani is nothing but he chooses different conceptual films right from his debut film ‘Ashta Chamma’ to the recent ‘Sega’. He is one of those rare actors who is hungry for variety films than star oriented ones. He is currently shooting for SS Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’ and now getting ready to entertain the audience as ‘Pilla Zamindar’. This movie is being directed by G Ashok and features Nani, Bindu Madhavi and Hari Priya in the lead. Produced by SS Bujji Babu under Sri Sailendra Cinemas banner, the film has music by Selva Ganesh. Interestingly Selva Ganesh made his debut as music director in Telugu with Nani’s ‘Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu’ which was a remake of the Tamil film ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ and now once again the duo has joined together for this film called ‘Pilla Zamindar’. Let’s check out the album and rate the songs.

Thalabadi  Music: Selva Ganesh Lyrics: Krishna Chaitanya Singer: Shankar Mahadevan

The album opens with a nice meaningful song. “Thalabadi Thalabadi Nilabadu, Oh Raade Yodhudu Jarabadu, Sankalpam Neekunte Otamikaina Onuke Ra, Budi Budi Adugulu Thadabadi, Adugaduguna Neeve Nilabadi, Edureegaali Lakshyam Vaipu Entho Paatubadi, Telugantu Raadu Ante Sooridaina Lokuva Ra….’. Sung by the gloriously voiced Shankar Mahadevan and chorus, the song is good to listen with its enriching lyrics and simple instrumental beat. While listening to this track one can imagine the beautiful visuals of his own. This song is likely to take you to a peaceful mood. Good one from Selva Ganesh, listen and enjoy!

Chuttu Chuttu  Music: Selva Ganesh Lyrics: Krishna Chaitanya Singer: VV Prasanna, Saindhavi

‘Chuttu Chuttu Chuttu Chuttu Nanne Chuttu…’ is a joyful and delightful song. Sung by VV Prasanna and Saindhavi, this song is like any other duet in Telugu films. Lyrics are okay. Nothing special to talk about. However, the audience might enjoy this song along with visuals.

Oopiri  Music: Selva Ganesh Lyrics: Krishna Chaitanya Singer: Karthik, Chinmayi

‘Oopiri aadadhu naaku edhuru nuvvaithe, kona voopiri tho vunna praanam poyyave…’ is a beautiful romantic song. Is it because Karthik and Chinmayi crooned it? Ha ha! May be!! Very soothing to ears. The song also touches my heart due to Krishna Chaitanya’s lyrics. The song is about love’s yearning, brings a sparkle into your eyes and makes you want to twirl and skip and dance. Just listen to it once, who knows, you might press the rewind button again and again.

Rangu Rangu  Music: Selva Ganesh Lyrics: Krishna Chaitanya Singer: Mukhesh, Priya Hemesh

Here is a typical song for the masses. ‘Rangu Rangu…’ is a good entertainer. You will not listen to it just in theaters, but in every tea stall and road side shops. Mukhesh and Priya Hemesh sang this song. Priya Hemesh, well known for mass masala songs, did a good job in this one too. Mukhesh is equally good. Krishna Chaitanya proved that he is capable of writing songs belonging to all genres. An exclusive song for the B and C centres alone.

PJ Club Mix  Music: Selva Ganesh Lyrics: Rap: Big Nikk Singer: Ranjith, Priya Hemesh

This is a song exclusively for the youth. Nice energetic one blend with Indian mass beats and western beats. This rap number was sung by Ranjith and Priya Hemesh. Big Nikk penned the rap lines. Although Selva Ganesh did not try anything new here, still the song will appeal to the generation today. We can visualize the fast forward visuals while listening to this track. Lyrics are pretty playful and enjoyable as well. It’s sure to grab the youth’s attention instantly. Just play and listen to it once!

Haiyayo  Music: Selva Ganesh Lyrics: Sri Mani Singer: Solar Sai

Wow! Finally the album ends with a fantastic remix number ‘Ayyayo chethilo dabbulu poyene…’. This is the most enjoyable and fun filling song. Beautifully composed by Selva Ganesh without spoiling the originality. Lyrics were very well written by Sri Mani. They are not only catchy but also interesting to listen. The highlight of the song is Solar Sai excellent vocals. His voice is fresh and aptly suited for the song. This would be the real treat not just for listeners but also the audience in theaters. Enjoy!!!

Although nothing new, good songs overall created by Selva Ganesh, but the highlight of the album is
‘Ayyayo Jebulo Dabbulu Poyene….’.

Dookudu Review

Dookudu is a treat for Mahesh's fans.
Cast:  Mahesh Babu, Samantha Prabhu, Parvathy Melton, Sonu Sood, Sonia, Brahmanandam, Vennela Kishore, M.S. Narayana, Kota Sreenivasa Rao, Dharmaavarapu Subramanyam, Shaaji Shinde and Nazar; Director: Sreenu Vaitlaa; Writer: Gop Mohan; Producer: G. Ramesh Babu; Camera: K.V. Guhan; Music: S.S. Thaman; Rating:3.5/5.

'Dookudu' was much awaited because of the two big names of the Telugu film industry associated with it - Mahesh Babu and director Sreenu Vaitla.

Vaitla has been known for making successful comedy-action films, while Mahesh's movies stood out for his trademark stylish acting, glamour and breathtaking action sequences.
Story line: Shankar Narayan (Prakash Raj) is a people's man, a Godfather for the people of Shankar Nagar, Hyderabad.  Some villains (Kota Srinivas Rao and company) conspire to eliminate him and get rid of him successfully (though it turns out to be a temporary success).  As it happens in every other film, the do-gooder father's son Ajay (Mahesh Babu) grows to be a heroic cop and is based in Mumbai.  He and his team (headed by the inept Nasser) are on a hunt for the dreaded underworld don Nayak (Sonu Sood looks old but his performance is routinely fresh).  Team Ajay head to Istanbul, Turkey, to nab Guru Talwar, Nayak's aide, to eventually catch hold of the big fish.

Filmy drama   gives way to a pleasant romantic track involving Mahesh and Samantha.  As Ajay and co prepare to outsmart Talwar,  Vennela Kishore  makes us laugh by gushing about his Bamma, who has got a talent for predicting things as they will happen.  This goes to show that Vaitla never rmisses an opportunity pepper the proceedings with humor).

Some dialogues (Kona Venkat) show traces of Trivikram-style satire and humour in Istanbul.  While Mahesh goes verbose (well, he says he has got noti doola), displaying much more maturity as an actor than he did in Khaleja, Samantha adds the glamour quotient.  The monumental beauty of Istanbul, resplendent with magnificent buildings which form the backdrop in a duet, lends a rich feel.  (Thank the camera of Guhan).

It is not long before Ajay completes his Operation Istanbul and returns to Hyderabad.  It is at this stage that Vaitla introduces his brand of comedy.  The film is now set in the house in which Shankar Narayan lived.  Shankar is back in the house but his return is kept in the dark.  Ajay wants to make his father, who had lived in coma for years, happy by creating a make-believe world of lies around him.

The rest of the film is all about how Ajay accomplishes the task of annihilating every villain who had backstabbed and wanted his father to be dead.  Thankfully, the drama and action are not routine.  They are laced with rib-tickling comedy and touching sentimentality.  Vaitla blends all the commercial ingredients in his inimitable style and makes Dookudu an enjoyable fare for all and how?

Well, here it is how he does it.  Much like Dhee, Ready and King, this film too sees the the hero making everyone live in a fool's paradise: things go as the hero wants them.  Nayak marvels at old Telugu classics and Ghantasala's rendition of the Gita; Brahmanandam, who believes that he is part of a reality show (this one, believe us, is top class), has you in splits as he is fooled around without a respite; MS Narayana's spoofing of Magadheera and Simha is superb; Prime Minister NTR, speaking on the ramparts of Red Fort in chaste Telugu, promises to bring black money back; Master Bharath participates in multi-crore land dealings and brings smiles.  Even a get-to-gether of Mahesh, Samantha's families becomes an occasion for comedy of lies and bakras.  Episodic treatment keeps your interest alive.  Every murder comes with a touch of humour.  Welcome to the world of Srinu Vaitla.

As for the performances, Mahesh delivers one of his career bests.  He can now safely claim, without inviting ridicule, that Dookudu is a slap on the face of those who declared that he is not good at comedy.  He shows verve and energy in action scenes.  He is convincing in the khaddar get-up.  He is remarkable at spouting one-liners as the super-efficient cop.  He is trigger-happy, but is immediately funny in taking digs at his stupid senior Nasser.

All comedians and character artists do justice to their roles.  On the flip side, however, Samantha is not seen much in the second half.  But when she sizzles on the screen in Itu Raye number, you swoon.

Tehnicially, it is proof what a Digital Intermediate finish can make a film look like.  It is visually rich.
